Thanks! No I just used the preset tools that came with SAI. I used the brush tool and right under the tools there is all the options for the settings. Under "density" there are 2 things that say "layer" there is a drop down and I just set it to "xshape _cross"

I also added a noise filter in photoshop after I want done that gives it that grainy look.
